VANTEC concluded the integration of a camera tracking system for the virtual studio serving the news at TVI. The project centres on the integration of Stype RedSpy optical tracking with TVI existing Sony cameras and Vizrt's virtual studio graphics. The new system replaces a third-party solution which was nearing the end of its useful life.
"When TVI approached us about their requirement, we consider Stype's RedSpy which had been deployed successfully by several broadcasters, including other of our clients at Portugal, notably for their coverage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. We researched the various options and, following further discussions with TVI and demos at IBC 2018 and on-site, TVI agreed that RedSpy was the best choice. We worked closely with TVI and Stype to ensure full compatibility with the Vizrt graphics processor. The graphics system was upgraded by TVI prior to the RedSpy installation. Due to big usage of the studio it was decided that the deployment should take place over a weekend and finish in a Thursday, starting the daily production the Thursday afternoon."The RedSpy integration involved mounting infra-red sensor cameras onto tree existing TVI camera systems. The project was completed successfully with the new system on air and the success of the deployment was down to hard work and cooperation between the TVI, VANTEC and Stype teams.SIC acquired several tracking systems for their brand new studios based on infra-red tracking system RedSpy. These allows SIC to have free movement of camera while using augmented reality elements over 3 different studios.
The systems serving 10 cameras, 3 of them cranes. The cranes are based on Human Crane from Stype, including Stype Kit for control and crane head memories. The system is capable to follow a point automatically. The cranes have total freedom of movement including the foot.Cofina Group, owner of CM TV contracted VANTeC to provide a new Telemetrics robotics solution for the new station Studio 2. The studio will also count on a innovative crane, by Stype, with semi-manual and robotic operation of the head, and with efficient tracking. The project also includes an update of Robotics technology at Studio 1. The integration includes a total of 7 new robotics, extra control area and a solution to centralize robotics database and shows, in order any robotic, independent on the location can be controlled by any controller. All systems are integrated with virtual set systems.
